When Charles Taylor InsureTech (CTI) set out to tackle the noise of bordereaux data management, they teamed up with Transparity to deliver on their vision. Using our AI Factory approach, the two teams worked as one to create CTI’s Bordereaux Sync, a smart, plug-and-play SaaS solution that automates data cleansing, validation, and compliance to Lloyd’s Bordereaux 5.2 standards. Built on Microsoft Azure, it’s fast, secure, and totally transparent, with a human-in-the-loop process to keep everything trustworthy. As a result, Bordereaux Sync has saved users 167 hours already, cutting development and delivery time by 50%.
As experts in insurance tech, Charles Taylor InsureTech saw a huge opportunity for improvement - the error-prone, time-consuming process of reporting bordereaux data every month for insurers across the country. So, when Reiss Gavin, Head of London Market Application Development Design, at Charles Taylor InsureTech pitched a bold new AI application concept to tackle this challenge head-on to Microsoft, they were impressed. But having a great idea is one thing; executing it is another. They needed to turn this concept into reality, and they needed to do it quickly.
The challenge wasn't just technical capability; it was cultural fit. Charles Taylor InsureTech explored options with several technology partners recommended by Microsoft. We were looking for partner that could grasp the vision, handle the technical complexity of the London Insurance Market, and work at the necessary pace.
Crucially, in an industry as regulated as insurance, ‘moving fast’ can never mean ‘breaking things. The security, data integrity, and governance had to be watertight. Transparity needed a partner who could balance agility with serious operational rigour.
Here’s what Bordereaux Management means.
Bordereaux management is the process of dealing with the reports that insurance brokers, coverholders, or MGAs send to insurers or reinsurers. They’re a snapshot of all the key information like premiums, claims and risks over a set period. With huge amounts of inaccurate data, plenty of room for error, and the constant pressure to stay on top of security and compliance, bordereaux management is a real headache for insurers.
Out of all the Microsoft partners pitching to deliver Bordereaux Sync, Transparity came back, in Reiss’ words, "a superior supplier". The difference lay in our unique approach to our partnerships, dubbed the Transparity Way, and our AI Factory methodology.
Our AI Factory offers a framework designed to turn AI from hype into something you can use .and trust, at pace and at scale. AI Factory is all about structure, clarity, and making sure AI delivers real outcomes where it matters. The project followed our proven framework made up of 3 components:
From day one, the teams didn’t just work together, they operated as one. Transparity embedded cross-functional AI experts, cloud, data and security pros, and industry-savvy consultants right alongside CTI’s IT team and thinkers from across the business, breaking down every wall in sight. The AI Factory doesn’t do silos. Instead, it brings everyone together in workshops to map out business goals, define high-impact use cases, and plan how AI can solve practical problems, not just look flashy in a slide deck.
The delivery? Fast, but always governed. With a foundation built on Microsoft Azure, the AI Factory sets up robust, compliant infrastructure before a single line of code is written. Every sprint is focused, accountable, and transparent with clear checkpoints for security, compliance, and stakeholder buy-in. And the model is repeatable: you don’t just build once; you create a cycle of continuous improvement and innovation.
"Transparity said they’d have a proof of value working in 30 days, true to their word, they delivered and exceeded expectations. It was functionally richer than we anticipated for what was essentially a prototype. The speed was incredible. That real-time, instantaneous change comes from having dedicated teams on both sides working collaboratively."
Reiss Gavin, Head of London Market Application Development Design, Charles Taylor InsureTech

This approach was a key enabler in the development of Bordereaux Sync. Using the AI Factory, the joint team rapidly designed and built a smart solution powered by Microsoft AI. Bordereaux Sync is more than a clever tool: it automatically screens, cleanses, and validates data to Lloyd’s Coverholder Reporting Standards, catching errors before they ever hit the system. It uses a human-in-the-loop process, so nothing gets changed without oversight ensuring total trust and transparency.
The solution was developed to be plug-and-play. A standalone SaaS solution built to fit seamlessly into the insurance market’s existing workflows, but robust and scalable enough to support future innovation as the business grows.
In short, with the support of our experts and following our AI Factory process, Charles Taylor InsureTech now have a market-ready solution already making waves in the industry. After launching to market CTI already report Bordereaux Sync has saved users 167 hours already, cutting development and delivery time by 50% compared to traditional methods.
Our partnership not only delivered CTI’s vision, but it also cut development time from months to weeks and freed up their team to focus on other priorities. With an established partnership and Charles Taylor InsureTech are ready to take on the next big challenge in insurance.
*167 Hours saved in bordereaux data processing - In complex monthly bordereaux processes it’s the equivalent of approximately 20-man days for a bordereaux processing team. The time saving relates to time taken for a team to review and cleanse the data of the monthly bordereaux’s as well as obtain the missing information from coverholders to get to a suitable level of bordereaux to be processed by their systems for output reporting.
